Apart from committee work and publications, members of the Age-Friendly Portland and Multnomah County initiatives are involved in several collaborative projects:
Aging Well Conference
This annual community event provides a learning and networking platform for residents, advocates, and members of the aging services. The goals of the conference are to present attendees with opportunities to envision and plan for a community that perceives aging as an asset rather than mainly as a process of decline, combats ageism, fosters intergenerational interdependence, and offers age-related services to a wide range of customers. Age-Friendly Business & Age Smart Employer Awards
This awards program recognize Portland businesses and organizations and their innovative age-friendly practices. A project of the Age-Friendly Portland & Multnomah County collaborative and presented by Elders in Action and Venture Portland, awards will be given to businesses in three business size categories. Winners will be celebrated at a breakfast ceremony on October 31, 2018 at Portland City Hall, and recognized at the following Portland City Council meeting.
